Channing Tatum Spoofs Jean-Claude Van Damme Epic Split From Volvo Ad (VIDEO)

Channing Tatum won't be challenging Jean-Claude Van Damme to a gymnastics competition anytime soon.

Van Damme's awe-inspiring display of flexibility in the Swedish carmaker's overseas commercial inspired Tatum to try and repeat the trick.

The actor filmed a spoof Tuesday of Van Damme's viral splits video. Tatum balances between two food service trays, while wearing protective kneepads, on the set of "22 Jump Street," a cop comedy sequel he's filming with Jonah Hill.

"I've had my ups and downs," Tatum's voiceover begins with Enya's "Only Time" playing in the background, just like Van Damme's commercial.

"Being an undercover cop, that's what made me what I am today," he said. "Surviving high school is no easy task. Neither is being a college freshman at my age. But because of this, my body is now engineered to defy the law of physics. And the mindset to master the most epic of splits."

As the camera begins to pan back slowly, the "Magic Mike" star gazes into the camera. As two assistants push the carts pulling Tatum apart. A message scrolls on the bottom of the screen: "This test was set up to demonstrate the stability and precision of the food carts on the set of '22 Jump Street'."

The video ends with Tatum doubled over in pain, clutching his crotch. The spoof has gotten over four million views on Youtube.

"It was carried out by unprofessional in an open, unsupervised area," the video finishes.

In Van Damme's commercial Volvo flashes a message that this stunt was executed by "trained professionals in a closed-off area."

"It's going to be quite unusual, and the first time we'll ever see anything like it in a movie or a commercial," Van Damme promised in a statement released by Volvo. "Before doing the split between the trucks, I saw the storyboard and thought it looked amazing. It's very majestic and very powerful."
