Carrie Underwood, Turned Into Supertar After 15.3 Million Sales of Album 'Storyteller'

The winner of American Idol season four, Carrie Underwood, leveled up her status from being a country star into superstar.

A decade ago Simon Cowell, one of the judges in American Idol, said: "Not only will you win this show; you will sell more records than any other previous Idol winner." Simon's words seemed to be prophetic.

The American Idol winner in 2005 reached about 15.3 million album sales in U.S. after it was released on Friday, October 23.

Apart from her regularly sold out arenas and scooped up Grammys, now she also turned into a creative songwriter in her personal right. The majority of her fifth studio album - Storyteller - was co-written by her.

The superstar is known to be an introvert and is usually spotlight-shy. Perhaps her fairy-tale days and accomplishments appear to have easily drawn her in that she isn't given enough recognition.

An Improved Carrie won the title despite of criticism from her viewers because of her lack of stage presence. Five months after she won, the Idol winner released Jesus, Take the Wheel. The song reached No.1 and catapluted her 2005 debut album, Some Hearts on the other hand sold 7 million copies.

Underwood radiates a sweet yet tough character, with enthusiasm about subjects such as animal rights, and repeatedly mentions her Christian faith.

Together with her songs incorporates different characters and stories. Like her song Before He Cheats, whose narrator hits the car of an disloyal boyfriend; or Two Black Cadillacs, where in a wife and mistress join forces to slay the philandering husband.

Carrie's husband, Mike Fisher, praised her in his tweet "Very proud of my girl for all the hard work put into this album. God has blessed her with an amazing gift and its [sic] awesome to see her use it to inspire others! #storyteller."

She got married with Fisher, a Nashville Predators hockey player, in 2010. They have an 8-month-old son, Isaiah.
