Melissa Joan Hart Message to Miley Cyrus: 'You've Got To Be Careful About What You Put Out There' (VIDEO)

Sinead O'Connor did it, Bette Midler did it, Cher did it and now actress Melissa Joan Hart is the latest celebrity to comment on Miley Cyrus and her onstage antics.

Hart, the former teen star of "Clarissa Explains It All" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," said people should not judge the 20-year-old too harshly.

"People like Miley Cyrus, she's incredibly talented and she got a lot of notoriety for, you know, acting like a young girl onstage," Hart said. "I think she'll be all right. You can't judge her on that; you have to wait another five to 10 years and see where she goes."

Cyrus recently sent even more shockwaves across the Internet on Sunday night when she lit up a joint during her MTV EMA acceptance speech.

"These days it's really tricky. The business has changed from when I was young," the 37-year-old said. "There weren't things like social media. There wasn't the Internet. There wasn't TMZ and there weren't all these outlets and places. They need content to fill and so they're digging more into people's personal lives and following you around and looking at everything."

Hart believes the "Wrecking Ball" singer will be just fine, as long as she stays mindful of her next move. Hart released her memoir, "Melissa Explains It All," last month and sat down with MTV to warn Cyrus to beware of "oversharing."

"You've got to be careful about what you put out there...keep some secrets so you can write a book later on," she said. "So, where can we pre-order the Miley Cyrus tell-all?

Hart wrote about her own escapades as a young adult in her new book, including one time when she took ecstasy at a party at the Playboy Mansion and kissed a girl and hook ups with actors including Ryan Reynolds and Backstreet Boy member Nick Cater.

"I was kind of running with a bad crowd," she told Life & Style magazine. "I just didn't enjoy taking drugs. I don't like the loss of control."
