Super Bowl 2016: Adam Levine’s Maroon 5 May Follow Katy Perry’s Halftime Show After Bruno Mars And Taylor Swift Rumors – Even Grateful Dead May Play!

Earlier this year, the world was mesmerized by the show pop princess Katy Perry created for the 49th edition of the National Football League's championship game, and for the 50th anniversary of the great event, the plans are already brewing - can the Super Bowl 2016 halftime show be hosted by Maroon 5?

In the latest Super Bowl 2016 rumors, it's being said that "The Voice" coach Adam Levine and his popular band have had talks about performing the biggest gig in the world, though nothing seems to be set in stone after a number of names have been said over the course of months.

According to Vulture, the "Sugar" hitmakers have had "lengthy talks" in the negotiations regarding the Super Bowl 2016 show, although a number of other artists have been approached, it seems like Levine's band is currently the frontrunner for the gig.

E! Online reports that, besides Maroon 5, other acts that have been approached about the Super Bowl 2016 halftime show have been Chris Martin's Coldplay, One Direction and Bruno Mars, the latter of whom Billboard reported a few weeks back had been approached to "curate" the show as it marks its golden anniversary.

Besides the supposed frontrunners, there have also been rumors of Taylor Swift, Perry's supposed pop nemesis, trying to snag the show to up the ante from this year's spectacular performance.

Last year, Perry's official announcement that she'd be filling in the coveted spot was made around Thanksgiving, so it shouldn't be surprising if the information on the Super Bowl 2016 show comes out in the next few weeks as well.

In the past, some of the biggest and most iconic stars in the world have been part of the Super Bowl halftime tradition in the past decade or so, from the infamous Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake performance to former Beatle Paul McCartney, Beyoncé, Madonna and Nicki Minaj.

Expect some official information on the Super Bowl 2016 halftime show soon!
