It seems like fans have been so focused on trying to figure out which superheroes will be siding with Steve Rogers or Tony Stark in the upcoming film 'Captain America: Civil War' that they have overlooked an important detail: the movie will introduce one of the most iconic Marvel supervillains.
Baron Helmut Zemo will finally be making his feature film debut in 'Captain America: Civil War' and Marvel has made an excellent choice by casting 'Inglourious Basterds' star Daniel Bruhl as the Nazi scientist. But don't expect Baron Zemo to be wearing his trademark purple hood in the film.
"He does not wear the mask," Daniel Bruhl told Business Insider. "You would be surprised. It's different than what you'd think."
The German actor also confirmed that his Baron Zemo will be an updated version of the comic book villain.
"It's loosely connected to this character," Bruhl said. "But that's what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they're dealing with always reference to current events so my character is from a different area than you would think."
It would make sense that Baron Zemo would have a new look for his big screen debut in 'Captain America: Civil War.' However, there could still be a possibility that Daniel Bruhl would end up with the purple mask if he goes up against Steve Rogers in the film.
And 'Captain America: Civil War' may not be the last time we will see the 'Burnt' star in a Marvel flick. Daniel Bruhl admitted that Baron Zemo could pop up in the future Phase Three films.
"There's a possibility," he said, adding a cryptic comment, "That's the way it's written."
Although it hasn't been revealed if there are more than one films in Daniel Bruhl's contract, there is a possibility that Baron Zemo could appear in 'Avengers: Infinity War.'
