The Marvel flick 'Ant-Man' was truly full of surprises, from Paul Rudd's astonishing body transformation to play the thief Scott Lang to the unexpected appearance of a newly-minted Avenger. Needless to say, Anthony Mackie's quick cameo as Sam Wilson aka Falcon was one of the most memorable scenes in film for its easy balance of humor and action.
But can that moment be duplicated in 'Captain America: Civil War,' when Ant-Man and Falcon finally get reunited again? Is there a possibility that the two superheroes will be friends? After all, Paul Rudd and Anthony Mackie are good friends in real life.
Anthony Mackie recently spoke with Cinemablend, where he talked about how an Ant-Man and Falcon reunion will look like.
"Yeah, our relationship is... yeah," Mackie said with a laugh. "It grows in 'Civil War.' But that's Paul Rudd, man. Paul Rudd and I just make fun of each other all the time, so it just carries over into the movie."
The actor also admitted that he has a lot of respect for his friend's favorite baseball team.
"I respect his [Kansas City] Royals - I'm pulling for his Royals - but we just make fun of each other all the time," Mackie said.
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
It sure sounds like Falcon and Ant-Man will be showing off their comedic chops in 'Captain America: Civil War,' which certainly deserves some humor considering its dark storyline. After all, the film will find the Avengers ripped apart into opposing factions in a battle that could lead to the death of Captain America.
But who will take the shield once Steve Rogers is dead? Anthony Mackie says it can't be Sam Wilson.
"I don't think we need a new Cap," Mackie said. "I don't think Cap needs to change. I think [Sebastian Stan] would be a great Cap, but then we're left without Bucky. I think I'd be a great Cap, but then we're left without a Falcon."
Catch Falcon in action when 'Captain America: Civil War' hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
