While hearing of several coaching feuds in the world of MMA fighting is no big deal, Ronda Rousey's mother seems to be cutting the chill as she points out her daughter's coach, Edmond Tarverdyan's bad attitude towards women athletes, according to reports.
It looks like UFC's World Bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey is stuck between her head coach, Edmond Tarverdyan and mother, Dr. AnnMaria De Mars, who has recently made headlines for openly admitting she dislikes Tarverdyan.
"Edmond is a terrible coach and I will say it publicly," De Mars said in a statement. "I think he's a terrible coach. I think he hit the lottery when Ronda walked in there."
She added, "It's bad that he uses her to lure people in. I told Ronda, 'I'm not going to be quiet about this anymore. He's a bad person and people should not go there. And if he wants to sue me, that's my honest opinion."
Adding to her degrading statement against coach Tarverdyan, De Mars went on to say that he doesn't even hold a good track record as a coach.
"People actually do worse, but he keeps telling them how great they are, how great they're doing and they stay there. It's pathetic." She said.
Besides calling out to Tarverdyan's way of treating women athletes including Ronda, she also did not miss out putting some blame to her own daughter about the problem she has been trying to address.
"We talked about it before and last time, she was like 'Oh, I've got a fight coming up," she said. "You only get that pass from me once. Whoever she wants to date, whatever she wants to do in her career, that's her business."
She added, "But if you're in a situation where you're really causing harm to other people by being used as bait to lure people in there, I think somebody needs to speak out."
Edmond Tarverdyan on the other hand, has not yet commented on the issue. However, everyone thinks it's a pretty hard diss for him, knowing for a fact that he is coaching one of the best athletes in the world of sports today.
