News of Lamar Odom’s condition seems to be going from bad to worse in the hours since being admitted to a Las Vegas Hospital. As he remains in a coma, doctors are now saying that the basketball star has just a “50/50 chance of survival” after having suffered a series of strokes and severe organ failure.
According to TMZ, Lamar is still in a coma, and breathing "with the assistance of machines."
But the gossip website claims his heart is failing and he "is having serious problems with his kidneys and lungs."
With each failing organ, Lamar’s chances for survival decrease the doctors have allegedly explained. Right now, they believe he has only a “50/50 chance for survival.
Lamar was found unconscious in a VIP room at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nevada on October 13 and was rushed to the hospital.
According to TMZ, originally Lamar was to be air-lifted to a local hospital, but plans had to be changed when they realized his 6’10” body was too big for the helicopter.
He was eventually transferred by road ambulance and remains in a critical condition.
The former NBA star was allegedly at the ranch for a number of days partying with girls and taking a herbal substitute for viagra, TMZ quoted sources as saying.
Hof reportedly told the site that 35-year-old Odom was found unconscious in a VIP suite with fluid streaming from his mouth.
Witnesses at the hospital where Lamar is fighting to stay alive reportedly say he also had opiates in his system. Lamar also reportedly had visible track marks on his arms.
The doctors at the hospital are reportedly treating this as an “overdose,” a source told E! News, adding that “virtually every drug imaginable was found in his system.”
As a result, Lamar reportedly suffered from a “loss of oxygen,” while doctors are said to still be having trouble determining the full extent of any brain damage Lamar may have suffered.
