Ellen Pompeo on Emmys: 'I Didn't See Any Diversity ... The Dance Number Was Embarrassing' (VIDEO)

Ellen Pompeo reportedly was not a fan of this year's Emmy Award show.

The 43-year-old actress said she "was really disappointed" by the Sunday telecast of the 65th Annual Emmy awards, which was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

"I didn't see any diversity in the Emmys at all," she said in an interview Monday, according to USA Today. "The Emmys felt so dated. That dance number was embarrassing. Did you see one person of color in that dance number?"

The "Grey's Anatomy" star said the long-running medical drama series prides itself on being diverse with cast members Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Sara Ramirez and Gaius Charles.

"I'm extremely proud of our very, very diverse cast, which represents the world that I walk around in every day," she said.

The actress appeared on "Watch What Happens: Live" to clear up her statement. She told host Andy Cohen that her comments were made "off the record" as she was walking from the elevator into an interview. She said her team is looking into what happened, but she stands by her comments.

The actress did have some fun during the show. When asked who was a better kisser out of Patrick Dempsey and Chris O'Donnell, she quickly answered Dempsey.

"We don't have that much time," Pompeo said, when asked why she choose co-star Dempsey.

The actress said she missed former co-stars T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl, who were written out of the series. Grey's Anatomy is now in its 10th season on ABC. The new season will premiere Thursday.
