Aerosmith Gave Donald Trump a Legal Notice Over 'Dream On' Use

The American television personality and political candidate - Donald Trump, has already roused the displeasure of artists like Neil Young and R.E.M. for using their songs at the presidential candidate's campaign stops without their consent. Now another rock legend is threatening to pursue legal action against Donald Trump. The American rock band - Aerosmith, has filed a cease-and-desist letter to the Republican front runner Trump, demanding that he stops using "Dream On" at his rallies.

The Hollywood Reporter stated that the band's representative, American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist - Steven Tyler, sent a legal notice to Trump's camp. The cease-and-desist letter reads, "Trump for President does not have our client's authorization to use 'Dream On' or any of our client's other music in connection with the Campaign, because it gives the false impression that he is connected with or supports Mr. Trump's presidential bid."

This was the second warning Tyler's lawyers sent out to Donald Trump, as the political candidate was initially asked to also refrain from making use of "Dream On" at an August 21st rally for Donald Trump in Mobile, Alabama. But the chairman and president of The Trump Organization continued to play the track of Aerosmith at rallies, including Trump's stop in Las Vegas - where the candidate air-drummed along with "Dream On," he also utilized the song in Atlanta this weekend.

This time, the legal team of the lead singer of the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith - Steven Tyler, gave Trump a 24-hour window warning the mogul on his campaign, "If Trump for President does not act in accordance with our demands, our client will be forced to pursue any and all legal or equitable remedies which our client may have against you."

Attorney Dina LaPolt stated that the cease-and-desist letters of Aerosmith were not meant for "political" or "personal" issues with Donald Trump. Instead, the resolution was reached after a consideration based on permission and copyright.
