Sony Announces $50 Price Cut For PlayStation 4

Sony has just unveiled that the PlayStation 4 will have a price cut in the United States. The said announcement will be an advantage for PS4 lovers as the tech company offers a $50 price cut for their latest console.

PlayStation 4 will now be offered at the price of $349.99 instead of its original price which is at $399.99.  In Canada, the device will be available at $429.99 CAD from $449.99 CAD. Just last month, it can be remembered that the Japanese multinational company already lowered the price of PS4 in Japan.

The said price cut is considered the first time since the initial launching of Sony's gaming console in November 2013. Back then, the price of the PS4 was $400 while its competing Xbox One is sold at the $500.

In a statement, Shawn Layden pointed out the main reason why Sony decided to have a price cut for their gaming console.

"Our goal at PlayStation has always been to offer the best place to play at a compelling value to gamers. We're continuing to deliver on that commitment with this new price for PS4, making the console even more accessible to a broader audience this holiday," said by the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Furthermore, a lot of discounted games were also offered to complement the bargained gaming device. Some of the discounted bundles include the UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 bundle, Limited Edition Call of Duty: Black Ops III 1TB PS4 Bundle, Limited Edition Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars PS4 Bundle, Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront PS4 Bundle, Star Wars Battlefront PS4 Bundle and NHL 16 PS4 Bundle which are only available in Canada for now.

Earlier, Sony announced that they already achieved a total of 18.5 million sales since the PS4 debut way back in 2013. It can be noted that out of the total sales, 4.1 million of them were sold during the holiday season.
