After weeks of anticipation, Miley Cyrus released the new music video for "Wrecking Ball," the second single from her album "Bangerz."
"It's officially here #wreckingballonvevoNOW," the singer tweeted Monday morning.
The 20-year-old pop star's new video, which is marked as "explicit content," has shattered the record for the most-watched video in a 24-hour time period on video-sharing site Vevo, according to E! News.
Cyrus goes braless in a tiny white cropped tank, matching panties for the first half of her video. The video later shows the singer completely naked swinging around on an oversized wrecking ball and licking a sledge hammer.
According to Yahoo Music, the once the controversial clip hit the web, Cyrus' video quickly garnered views with many eager users sharing links to her latest song. More than 16 million people watched "Wrecking Ball" in less than 24 hours.
British boy band, One Direction holds the record for the most-watched Vevo video in one day, with 10.9 million views for their hit song "Best Song Ever" video.
After the release for her video, the former Disney star took to Twitter to post a link of the clip with the hashtag, #WreckTheRecord.
