Microsoft vs Apple: Surface Book Is Two Times Faster Than MacBook

Microsoft has just released its newest Surface Book during the Windows 10 Devices event. The new device will certainly top the competing MacBook and MacBook Pro of Apple according to the Redmond-based company.

The Surface Book is one of the high-end devices that the American company has unveiled during the event. Other gadgets that were announced include the Lumia Windows 10 mobile device and the Surface Pro 4.

The new Surface Book has caught more attention as Microsoft stated the new device is twice as fast in terms of performance when compared to Apple's MacBook.

The latest product of Microsoft is said to be equipped with some of the advanced technology now available in the market. It can be considered as a full power laptop which features a separable screen, in case the user wants to use the device as a tablet.

In a statement, Panos Panay said that the new device is capable of beating the Apple's current flagship laptops.

"By adding the discrete GPU, two extra processors, it fundamentally makes Surface Book two times faster than the MacBook Pro," stated by Panay which is the VP of Microsoft company.

According to the website The Verge, the Surface Book will have a display of 13.5 inches with an astounding resolution of 3000 x 2000. It will be equipped with the latest Skylake processor technology which can be an i5 or an i7 depending on the user's specifications.

The buyer can also choose to have an 8GB or 16GB of RAM in addition to the 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage option. It will have a weight of 3.34 pounds and a dimension of 12.3 x 9.14 x 0.9 inches.

Accessories for the Surface Book include a detachable keyboard plus an 8 megapixels rear camera and 5 megapixels front camera. With these array of specs, the new device is certainly in a great advantage to the MacBook Pro of Apple.

The Surface Book will be available at a starting price of $1,499 which is considered more expensive compared to the $1,299 MacBook Pro.
