Transformers 5 Through 8 Are On The Way - Hasbro Chief Confirmed With A Video

The next decade has the future of the American science fiction action film, Transformers is being mapped out. During a Q&A, the president of the Los Angeles-based TV development and production division of Hasbro, Inc. - Stephen J. Davis, revealed that Transformers 5, 6, 7, and 8 are in the works.

Stephen J. Davis stated, "You're going to see a new Transformers film coming from Hasbro and the film company - Paramount Pictures, director Michael Bay and our other partners." Stephen J. Davis also said, "In fact, we just wrapped up, as some of you may have read, just an incredible experience. We're having clear opinions that we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the Transformers franchise, so we got jointly in a room over a three-month period of time."

Stephen J. Davis explained that, by "we," he referred to a group of screenwriters who got together to discuss plans for the Transformers franchise moving forward, "Nine of some of the most creative writers I have ever worked with, guided by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for A Beautiful Mind and [has] written a bunch of great films. And they plotted out the next 10 years of Transformers franchise. In a similar way, we are doing the same in television and in digital. So stay tuned, Transformers 5 is on its way, and 6 and 7 and 8."

The Transformers: Age of Extinction was the opening move in developing the franchise without Shia LaBeouf - who stars the 2007 Transformers, 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009. The American filmmaker Michael Bay helmed the Transformers: Age of Extinction that starred the American actor and producer - Mark Wahlberg, the Irish-American actor - Jack Reynor, and Nicola Peltz - who had a breakthrough role that came when she played Katara in the The Last Airbender.

In September, Michael Bay tweeted that he is not confirming his return for the fifth Transformers film, but Stephen J. Davis seemingly says otherwise.
