Paula Patton had just one warning for her family about her role in her new movie "2 Guns."
"You're gonna see boobies," the 37 year-old actress said, according to E! News.
The actress, whose married to singer Robin Thicke opened up on the "Today Show" with Katie Lee and Hoda Kotb about being topless in "2Guns," even though her own mother told her never to take her bra off again after having a child.
"I just said, 'Mom, you're gonna see my boobies," Patton said. "She was like, 'OK, I think I can handle that."
Patton mentioned it was her idea to get mostly naked for the movie and that her co-star actor Denzel Washington was surprised on how much skin the actress wanted to show. Patton said defends her decision to use nudity, "it's for the art, always."
"This is [Thicke's] first time seeing it on screen," she explained. "He sees it all the time. But yes, this is the first time he's seeing it. And my mom."
Patton's husband was recently in the spotlight for own nudity scene. His new single "Blurred Lines" featured dancing topless models.
"My initial response was I love the clothed version, I don't think we should put out the naked version," Thicke said about his video. "And then I showed it to my wife and all of her girlfriends and they said 'You have to put this out, this is so sexy and so cool.'"
"2 Guns" is a movie about two agents, played by Washington and Mark Walberg, investigating one another with the belief they're stealing money from the mob. But when they realize they were set up by the CIA, they must work together to return the money, while trying to stay alive. Patton plays Deb, a DEA who tries her best to help Washington's character.
"2 Guns" hits theaters Friday.
