Vin Diesel May Have Hinted At End of Fast and Furious Saga

It's already been confirmed that the Fast and the Furious series would go on despite the tragic passing of franchise cornerstone Paul Walker. The most recent entry in the long running cars and capers saga, this year's Furious Seven, was the biggest yet; grossing $1.5 billion at the global box office.

There's no doubt a follow up film would deliver similar results. The question on everyone's minds now is; just how long can Universal keep this up? According to Vin Diesel, quite a while.

The star took to his Facebook page recently and said that the studio has plans for three more films to cap of the series.

The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world ... Since I became the producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way ... literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you.

My producing partner Neal would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet ... let alone seen a script.

Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision ... they have been like family ... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.

Last week, rumors swirled saying that Diesel was holding up production on the eighth film due to his inability to find a suitable director.

In his letter, he said that his next post would finally reveal his choice. He failed to give to a time frame of when that might be however.

Regardless, fans can be rest assured knowing that there are a few more rides left with the Fast and Furious gang.
