The world may know Pamela Anderson as a former 'Baywatch' babe, but to her sons Brandon and Dylan, she's a very protective mom!
Pamela Anderson was recently a guest on Today to promote her book 'Raw' and consider the possibilities of a 'Baywatch' movie. In addition to that, the mother of two also spoke about Brandon and Dylan, her sons with ex-husband Tommy Lee.
The 'Barb Wire' star explained why she and the Motley Crue drummer decided to raise the boys outside of the limelight.
"They have to make their own choices for the rest of their lives," she said. "And it wouldn't be their own choice if we were dragging them down red carpets."
But it's not like they've never been on the red carpet with their famous mother. Older son Brandon Lee recently attended the premiere of 'The Gunman' with his mother and immediately got a lot of media attention.
Pamela Anderson does admit that she is proud of her boys, who she wants to remain down-to-earth despite their fame. She told Willie Geist that she always reminds the boys, "You're gorgeous, you're talented. Now let's work on the humbleness and education."
The 'Baywatch' star's take on parenting hasn't changed since Brandon and Dylan were still children. She once talked about trying to give her sons a normal childhood when they were much younger.
"I want my kids to know how to look within themselves for strength," Anderson said. She also admitted that being a celebrity offspring has made her older son think differently.
"Brandon thinks everyone's mom is on TV and everyone's dad is a rock star," she said.
Nevertheless, it looks like she's raised Brandon and Dylan well. "They're perfect gentlemen, considering the gene pool," she said.
Pamela Anderson also confirmed she's not exactly thrilled about a 'Baywatch' movie, since the series worked best during the time that it aired.
"I think the charm of it was that it was of-the-times television," she said. "I don't like remakes. Let's think of new things to put in movies."
