Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are adopting a Syrian orphan.
Radar Online reports the A-list couple is adding another child to their brood of six -- 14-year-old Cambodian Maddox, 11-year-old Vietnamese Pax, 10-year-old Ethiopian Zahara, nine-year-old Shiloh and seven-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
An insider told the website that the 40-year-old actress who works as United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees visited the troubled country in Middle East and met her future son.
"On one solo trip, Angelina met three Syrian orphan siblings. They were all brothers," the insider revealed. "The middle child could speak some English."
"Angelina was heartbroken to learn the three of them had seen their father taken away by Syrian soldiers," the source continued. "Their home was also bombed and they lost their mother in the bombing."
"The oldest of the three was very quiet but never left Angie's side during the visit."
Angelina went home to the U.S. and told Brad about adopting three more children.
"Angie wanted to adopt all three," the insider said, which Brad then refused. "Going from six children to nine was just way too much, and Brad was concerned about how it would impact their other kids."
"Angie didn't put up a fight. She knew it just wouldn't work," the insider added.
The 51-year-old actor did compromise and agreed to adopt one.
Now, the couple are preparing the papers for an official adoption.
"It has been a very long process to adopt the Syrian orphan," the source said. "The red tape has been almost impossible at times. It could take at least another four to five months before the child is brought to the United States."
Angelina also visited Syrian and Iraqi refugees at a camp in Turkey in June with her first biological daughter, Shiloh, to celebrate the World Refugee Day.
