'Once Upon A Time' Same Sex Romance: Will Mulan And Aurora Finally Be A Couple In Season 5?

The fifth season of 'Once Upon A Time' might end up having several twists and turns, now that Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is officially the Dark One and Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) is heading for Camelot trying to save his mother.

The recent news of Jamie Chung's return to 'Once Upon A Time' Season Five would mean that Mulan would be getting more screentime, but does it also mean that she will be pursuing the love of her life Aurora (Sarah Bolger)?

According to TVLine, 'Once Upon A Time' executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz discussed the possibilities during the press screening of the fifth season. The EPs confirmed that there will be an unconventional romance coming up soon.

"We know that [the LGBT] community has been a big supporter of the show, and we would love to be able to tell a love story that reflects that," Kitsis said.

Adam Horowitz supported the statement. "We want the show to reflect the world as it is now," he added. "Whether that's going to be with any particular character, we're not going to say."

Although neither Edward Kitsis or Adam Horowitz confirmed whether they were talking about Mulan and Aurora, Kitsis confirmed that the fifth season of 'Once Upon A Time' will definitely explore a same-sex relationship.

"It is something we're going to do this year," Kitsis said.

Mulan was last seen in the Season Three episode 'Quite a Common Fairy,' where she decided to join Robin Hood and his Merry Men after finding out that Aurora is expecting a baby with Prince Philip.

Jamie Chung's return to 'Once Upon A Time' was announced by Adam Horowitz on Twitter, saying, "Hey #Oncers, look who's back! Thrilled to welcome @jamiechung1 back to #OnceUponATime season 5! #Mulan."

'Once Upon A Time' Season Five will premiere on ABC on September 27.
