Star Wars Battlefront Beta Will Be Open to All

Good news for Star Wars fans. Electronic Arts has just announced that the beta test for its highly anticipated shooter Star Wars: Battlefront will be open to everyone. No specific date for the beta was given, but given the full game's November 17 release date, it should be coming very soon.

The news was announced in an official post on the game's website. No matter what your choice of platform, whether it be Playstation 4, Xbox One, or PC, you'll get a chance to try out the game's single player and multi-player modes during the beta period.

Community manager Matthew Everett says:

Yes, we have a beta incoming and the final date will be announced as soon as we have the final details locked in. For now, I can tell you this: the beta will consist of both our offline and online modes including co-op and split-screen co-op, and it will take place on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and via Origin for PC, so we have you covered regardless of your next generation platform of choice.

The Multiplayer mode will showcase a new game mode known as 'drop zone' in an intense battle on the iconic frozen landscape of the planet Hoth.

Gamers looking to play solo will get that chance courtesy of the single player survival mission mode. The map featured here is the desert planet of Tatooine.

Players who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront will be among the first players to experience the Battle of Jakku, a lead-in to the upcoming Force Awakens film that opens on December 17. It takes place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in the film's first trailer.
