Iggy Azalea just can't seem to catch a break. The rapper was recently properly schooled by Q-Tip on the history of hip-hop, and the Twitter War took an embarrassing turn as Iggy simply responded that it was "patronizing."
Now it looks like the incident has resulted in the Australian rapper losing her mentor.
According to Complex, T.I. was recently a guest on Hot 97's 'Ebro In The Morning' show, where he confirmed that he is no longer working with Iggy Azalea.
"In her defense, she had a lot thrown at her at one time," the rapper said. "Any human being anywhere gon' have a hard time adjusting...Some stuff they brought upon themselves. In some cases it kind of was just the easiest place to put some pent-up aggression."
But when did T.I. stop working with Iggy Azalea? The rapper admitted that it was right after "the Q-Tip thing."
"After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, 'What is really meant to be said here is...' After it was cool, everything was cool, and then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [accomplished]," Tip said.
T.I. explained that he supported Iggy Azalea all the way, but the incident was a major turning point.
"I'ma be all the way real: I'm a loyal partner. If I rock with you I'm gon' rock with you," he said. "I really do feel that they just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they can do. They have the talent, they have the charisma."
The interview did not go unnoticed. Almost immediately, Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to react to the situation.
"Heres the deal, I am still signed to @tip and do business with him. The first ive heard of us having an "issue" is via a radio interview," Iggy tweeted, followed by two other tweets.
T.I. has not responded to Iggy Azalea's tweet. The rapper is currently working on his tenth album.
