Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Luca Guadagnino - who also directed "I Am Love" and "A Bigger Splash" -- would be directing the remake of the Italian horror film, "Suspiria."
Now, a list of cast members have just been released, and it's pretty star-studded, so brace yourselves. During the premiere of "A Bigger Splash" at the Venice Film Festival, Luca Guadagnino revealed that he loved working with his cast: Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Ralph Finnes, and Matthias Schoenaerts.
In fact, they all loved working together so much that they're starring in the all new "Suspiria" all together again! The remake will be shot in Berlin, Germany this coming winter.
Director Luca Guadagnino even admits that he is a huge fan of Dario Argento, the director of the 1977 "Suspiria." Not only that, but he also explains how he plans to create the remake in his own interpretation:
"The film by Dario Argento was a very indicative moment of growing up for me because I saw it when I was 14. [...] I think it changed me forever. I was obsessed [with Argento] through all my adolescence. [My version] is going to be set in Berlin in 1977. It's going to be about the mother and the concept of motherhood and about the uncompromising force of motherhood. It's going to be about finding your inner voice - the title is very evocative on these grounds."
Movie geeks are excited to see if this "Suspiria" remake will actually live up to the "over-the-top and visually insane (not to mention terrifying) original," as described by Oyster.
