After spending $2.5 billion for the video game Minecraft, Microsoft is letting the original Swedish game developer to be at its normal phase by not still updating Minecraft to version 2.0.
Minecraft is a videogame originally created by a Swedish programmer which was then developed by the Swedish company Mojang. Last year, Microsoft acquired the said game studio by spending almost $2.5 billion. Because of the video game's popularity, Minecraft has over 100 million listed members all over the world.
With the popularity of the game, Microsoft is letting the game developer do its own thing rather than updating a new version of the game.
Matt Booty said in a statement that the main concern of the team for now is to continue their step-by-step development of the game rather than releasing a new full update.
"Our team at Redmond has been working with the Stockholm team to continue that step-based development style, rather than releasing a Minecraft 2.0," said by the corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios.
Even though the company is not releasing any significant update, it is notable that the company is now broadening the area of franchise for the game.
Microsoft together with its co-developers just released the 0.12.1 update that will provide the gamers wide ways to create and discover their own worlds in the video game. Any user can also have the chance to play with other gamers using a Windows 10 PC, Windows phone, iOS, or Android.
The Minecraft: 0.12.1, also called as Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.12 update will offer new features that are not available on the previous mobile versions. These includes hunger, sneaking and sprinting, Nether zone, and manageable ocelots.
The new updated version is also bestowing some other new significant features that will make the game more exciting and fun.
Minecraft is considered as an open-world game which gives the player a huge freedom in playing the game. It is a game with no exact objective but provides the gamer an achievement system.
