Canon Releases 250-Megapixel Camera Sensor, Captures Quality Image At 11-Mile Distance

Canon has released its newest 250-megapixel camera sensor. The new device called APS-H CMOS sensor is said to capture every single detail even in an 11-mile distance and can also be used for spying.

The new device is considered as one of the most powerful sensor made for digital cameras. According to the Japanese company, the latest sensor, when attached to a camera, is able to view the detailed lettering on the side of an airplane at a distance of 18 km.

The new equipment also has an incredibly fast signal readout speed of about 1.25 billion pixels per second. This means that even in a long distance the sensor can still produce an array of crisp images.

In terms of video recording, the APS-H CMOS sensor can shoot a 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution video. The pixel resolution of the device is said to be 30 times clearer than the Full HD video. At a five-frame per second speed, any user can record an amazingly high-resolution video even if the shooter is in a relatively long range. Videos that were shoot can also be cropped without the fear of having poor quality imaging resolution.

Canon boasts its very own product saying that the sensor can soon be used as a specialized surveillance and crime prevention tool and ultra-high-resolution measuring instrument.

In terms of size, APS-H sensor is bigger than APS-C but smaller than the full frame. The new camera sensor is now used in Canon's bequest product line of EOS-1D DSLRs.

One of the slight problem that can be encountered with this beast-like device is its own CMOS sensors. According to reports, an increase in pixel counts may results in increased signal volume, which can produce some problems such as signal delays.

Canon is known as the company that develops very high specification devices. Last July, the company released a sensor which can shoot at 4,000,000 ISO sensitivity. The higher the ISO means the higher the shutter speed a photographer can use. For comparison, professional cameras can only have a maximum ISO of 100,000.
