A Grammy award might just be one of the best awards a musician can receive. While a Grammy might indicate that one "has finally arrived," others may beg to differ.
A$AP Rocky is probably one of those people who care about receiving a Grammy, but not in the same way most people might think.
Kid Cudi is the new co-host of IFC's "Comedy Bang! Bang!" so it doesn't come too much surprise that A$AP Rocky was a guest on the show.
During his interview on the show with TV journalist and "Comedy Bang! Bang!" co-host Scott Aukerman, A$AP Rocky received a text message about his latest album, "AT. LONG. LAST. A$AP." that sold "over half a million copies."
A$AP Rocky then goes on to talk about gold records being a thing of a past, and that in this day and age, rappers get "gold MP3s."
"They don't give out gold records no more nowadays. Nowadays, you get this: a gold mp3. Instead of hanging it on my wall, I just plug into my computer and drag it right onto my hard drive," said A$AP Rocky.
The 26-year-old rapper even asked Aukerman if he wanted to see his Grammy, which A$AP Rocky proudly showed on his Samsung iPhone.
"I didn't actually win. I been nominated for a few, so, you know, downloaded that one off of BitTorrent," explained A$AP Rocky.
Although A$AP Rocky has yet to receive a Grammy for his entire rap career, he also admitted that he didn't need a Grammy award to actually be a winner - which is actually a true testament of one, who wouldn't need any award for validation.
