Dakota Johnson has finally confirmed that James Foley will be the new director of 'Fifty Shades Darker'. Foley has replaced Sam Taylor-Johnson who directed the high-grossing film 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.
The 25-year-old star who played the role of Anastasia Steele in the film has expressed her feelings to the change of director for the sequel. She said that she is very excited to work with director Foley for the highly anticipated 'Fifty Shades Darker'.
However, the 'Need for Speed' star admitted that the transition was not that easy. She experienced a range of emotions after knowing that she will no longer be working with Taylor-Johnson for the upcoming film.
"It's quite exciting. There was a moment of being afraid, because I didn't know what it was going to be like," Dakota stated.
The 'Ben and Kate' star said that she was thinking about the experience she had with the director during the making of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' which could have been an advantage for her in the sequel of the movie.
"I had an experience with Sam [Taylor-Johnson] and then that all went away," she said.
But the American actress and model confirmed that she is excited to work with the new director. She states, "Now I'm excited. I think James is a talented filmmaker. How often do you get to reconvene with the same people and have a different spin?"
Johnson and the 'House of Cards' director have already met to discuss certain matters about the film but the star did not reveal any detailed info about the meeting.
Jamie Dornan who played the role of the rich and handsome Christian Grey stated that there will be restrictions for him in the coming film. Though the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' sequel has a sexier and darker theme, the Irish actor has already stated that he will not show his front parts to the camera.
'Fifty Shades Darker' will be out in cinemas on February 10, 2017.
