An Alaskan Woman Stole A Cop Car For Her Husband - Find Out Why!

This story might just give you serious envy for #RelationshipGoals.

A woman named Amber Watford from Big Lake, Alaska was arrested on Thursday for stealing an Alaska State Troopers Patrol car, among other charges.

Although that might not seem so surprising, the reason behind her theft would surely amuse you.

Here's the twist: Her husband, Joshua Watford was handcuffed in the back seat of the patrol car - and like any loving wife would do, the 28-year-old Amber Watford jumped into the police car on Wednesday.

Joshua Watford found himself arrested and handcuffed at the back of a cop car that same day after failing to attend some court-mandated classes for a previous DUI conviction.

According to the Associated Press, a passing motorist stopped and began speaking to the officer who arrested 38-year-old Joshua Watford.

While the officer was clearly distracted, Amber Watford took the opportunity to drive off in the patrol car with her husband in the back seat.

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said that the car was found about an hour later. The car was not damaged, and nothing was found missing - including the handcuffs that were supposedly on Joshua's wrists.

Alaska State Troopers officials then prompted a search for the couple, which also recruited the help of a helicopter and an Anchorage Police Department K-9.

A tip came in on Thursday, which led to the arrest of the Watford couple who were in custody at a Wasilla home. The two were charged with suspicion of vehicle theft and other charges such as hindering prosecution and criminal mischief.

Joshua Watford still remained in jail until Friday morning. Amber Watford, on the other hand, was no longer in custody. However, there was a $20,000 bail set for the latter.
