A Swedish 19 year old model took on social media to blast the fashion industry that labeled her figure too big for the fashion shows.
Agnes Hedengard posted a video this week in YouTube, where she showcased herself in a bikini.
She said while standing in front of a mirror, "I have worked as a model for about five years now, but up to this day I don't get any more jobs since the industry thinks I'm too big," she added. "They think this is too big," referring to her body measurement.
Despite her good looks, the young model is struggling to find an agency to work with. They think her figure is not qualified for the modeling industry.
She explained, "They think my butt is too big and they think my hips are too wide."
The 5'11" tall model admitted she already went to a lot of agencies and clients for bookings but apparently failed to land herself a project. They think she is not thin enough for the runway show.
"According to the modeling industry you cannot look like this, you need to be thinner."
"I hate it and I just want other people to see this," referring to the modeling standards, which she described as "absurd."
Despite being rejected too times because of her body measurements, she still believes that people must not be affected with other's scrutiny.
She said, "Love yourself," adding, "don't let anyone tell you anything different."
Her video actually drew a lot of response from her fans. Through her Instagram she thanked her followers for the overwhelming messages on Tuesday.
"You guys are amazing," she wrote. "Thank you all for all the love and support."
Hedengard's body mass index is 17.5, technically it placed her in the "underweight" category, according to the National Institutes of Health, PEOPLE pointed out.
