Banksy Opens Post-Apocalyptic Themed Dismaland Bemusement Park

If you enjoyed the happiest place on earth, you might want to get into the trippiest place on earth. Banksy opens a post-apocalyptic twist of Disneyland at Dismaland Bemusement Park.

Metro UK reports the world's most famous street artist is opening a grand exhibition at the old Tropicana lido site featuring Cinderella's castle, a Water Cannon Creek, a Guerilla Island, a cinema, and "an oil caliphate themed crazy golf course."

Dismaland opens on Saturday, August 22, showcasing 10 never-before-seen works by Banksy and 50 other British and international artists such as Damien Hirst, John Keyes, and Jenny Holzer to name a few.

Some of the park's photos are seen on its website including the Dismaland map. The site states, this exhibit is a "festival of art, amusements, and entry-level anarchism."

"I loved the Tropicana as a kid, so getting to throw these doors open again is a real honour," Banksy shared in a press statement. "I hope everyone from Weston will take the opportunity to once more stand in a puddle of murky water eating cold chips to the sound of crying children."

The website added the park "contains uneven floor surfaces, extensive use of strobe lighting, imagery unsuitable for small children and swearing."

There will also be special guests performing on Fridays and DJ sets on Saturdays with performances by Massive Attack and Pussy Riot.

The Banksy park opens from August 22 to September 27, 11am-11pm. Ticket price is at £3 which will be on sale starting August 21. Children from ages 0-4 can get in for free but there will be "absolutely no refunds under any circumstances."

"Are you looking for an alternative to the sugar-coated tedium of the average family day-out? Or just some where a lot cheaper? Then this is the place for you," the website stated. "Bring the whole family to come and enjoy the latest addition to our chronic leisure surplus."

Just a reminder though: "spray paint, marker pens, knives and legal representatives of the Walt Disney Corporation" are "strictly prohibited" inside the park.
