Chris Young was surprised when he learned that his name was dragged in Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton's divorce.
After the divorce news broke, Young's name was linked to Shelton and Lambert's split, suggesting that he and Miranda had an affair that caused it.
The 30-year-old country singer quickly denied the allegation through Twitter, insisting he had nothing to do with the ex-couple's decision.
Young spoke out about the accusations with Entertainment Tonight, telling the media outlet that he was "shocked" when his name got involved in the infidelity issue.
Chris told ET, "Man it sucks that I got put in this situation with two people who are my friends. It's just so weird getting pulled into something like that where it just wasn't true."
The ex-couple were last seen at the same place at the WE Fest 2015 earlier this month, where they both performed their own sets. Blake ended the night on a high note, while Miranda got emotional and even mentioned her divorce.
Despite being dragged into the issue, Chris Young still maintains communication with the two. He reveals that they are both okay.
He said, "I have not seen them, [but] I've definitely texted and called both of them. They're both good since [the last] time I've heard from them. As good as you can be."
"I was in touch with Blake all day that day. He was like, 'Dude, sorry.' I was like, 'I know, man," referring to the time when he was accused of having an affair with Miranda while she was married to Blake.
Chris also revealed that the cheating rumors haven't affected their friendship.
Young explains, "They're both really great friends still, so it's just one of those things. That's kind of a by-product of doing this and being in the spotlight I guess."
Shelton and Lambert announced their split in July, through a statement released in the Associated Press. They wrote, "This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately."
