Rage Against The Machine's Iconic Finsbury Park Concert To Be Released As A Film [VIDEO]

It may not be likely that the members of American rap metal band Rage Against The Machine will reunite any time soon, but fans can still watch them perform together one more time.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release a Rage Against The Machine concert film featuring footage from the band's famous free concert held at Finsbury Park in London. 'Rage Against The Machine - Live At Finsbury Park' will feature the band's performance of their songs 'Bombtrack,' 'People of the Sun,' 'Bulls On Parade,' 'Guerrilla Radio' and 'Sleep Now In The Fire.'

Eagle Rock Entertainment also released a teaser from 'Live At Finsbury Park,' where Rage Against The Machine performs 'Killing In The Name.'

The Eagle Rock Youtube channel offers a brief history on how the iconic Finsbury Park concert came about.

"In late 2009 a successful campaign was launched by Jon Morter and his then wife Tracy to promote an alternative to the omnipresent X-Factor winner being the Christmas #1 in the UK singles chart. The track they nominated as the alternative was 'Killing In The Name' by Rage Against The Machine."

'Killing in the Name' was originally released in November 1992, but the re-release proved to be a massive success.

"The band supported the campaign, donated the proceeds from the sales to charity and lead singer Zack de la Rocha promised that Rage Against The Machine would perform a free concert in the UK to celebrate the achievement. This went ahead in London's Finsbury Park on 6th June 2010 and is captured on this film. It is an exuberant performance by the band with the audience cheering them all the way to the inevitable climax of 'Killing In The Name.'"

Rage Against The Machine was formed in California in 1991 by vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk. Although the band broke up in 2000, they reunited in 2007. Unfortunately, they have no plans of writing or recording new materials.

'Rage Against The Machine - Live At Finsbury Park' will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 11, 2015.
