'Empire' star Terrence Howard and second ex-wife Michelle Ghent made some shocking revelations in the court hearing on Monday.
The 46 year old actor reportedly described the court proceedings an "ambush." During Howard's outburst the court judge, Thomas T. Lewis, told him to "learn some restraint" and "cool your jets." Adding he should stop making "extemporaneous statements," according to People.
During the hearing, the court exhibited some of the couple's exchange conversation which revealed some shocking truth.
Numerous communications were presented which articulated that Howard has a desire to commit suicide.
Howard wrote a text message in 2009, "I'm sitting here at lunch hoping you'll call ... every minute of every day I feel like putting an end to this miserable existence ... every lie I've told to you are equal in my mind to putting bullets into a clip and firing them at my future. ... I am devastated by my stupidity."
In his email, he wrote, "I couldn't do anything but sit there [looking] at a f---ing razor blade ... I just wanted to die ... I'll look for you in my next lifetime."
In another email, it reads, "My heart still belongs to you. If I had to cut off both my arms to appease the things [I have] done, [I would]."
Talking about the mutual violence, Howard claimed that Ghent was "continually attacking" him. But later dismissed the alleged threats "to save [his] career")," he said.
He also said, "I loved her and was also afraid of her. Love is a very complicated thing. ... I was in love with the person who [was holding me] captive."
"The only time she wasn't a threat ... was when we were together," he added.
"You're a great guy - you can be ... you are such a good manipulator. ... I think you're crazy ... I've done things in defense because you've hurt me ... that last time," Ghent told Howard through a phone conversation, which was recorded.
Howard also admitted that he and Ghent used cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy.
He also admitted that they both had a threesome.
Multiple messages portrayed Howard as a dangerous person after their break up.
Howard wrote in one text "I will never allow another man to be with you. Whoever tried to take my life will lose his existence.
In another text, "I will never allow a restraining order or anything to keep me from my wife."
But Howard countered about the sent messages, claiming that those texts are just to keep his former wife from hurting him.
Communications also revealed Howard tried to rekindle his relationship with Ghent. He also did not deny telling Ghent once that he would leave his third ex-wife, whom he just divorce this July.
In a recorded phone call, he said, "I love you with everything that I have. You were my dream come true from the very beginning."
Another conversation also showed that Ghent, is afraid of Howard.
Howard told Ghent, "I'm a good man."
Ghent responded, "I know. But you are also scary."
