'Supernatural' At SDCC: Jensen Ackles Talks About Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Return! Mischa Collins Reveals What Happened to Castiel!

'Supernatural' was once again present at the recent San Diego Comic-Con, and the stars of the CW show were always happy to speak with their fans about the upcoming season.

Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins spoke to CBR about Jeffrey Dean Morgan's possible return as John Winchester as well as Castiel's state after being put under Rowena's spell.

Ackles confirmed that he is still in touch with Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

"I talk to Jeff quite a bit, he's a very dear friend of mine," he said. "He's always been a big fan of the family that is 'Supernatural.' He's still very much a part of that family."

Jensen Ackles also shared his admiration for his former TV dad and how Jeffrey Dean Morgan is interested in returning to the series.

"He's a great guy and he's a very talented man. There's kindred spirits with 'Supernatural.' He really just enjoys the set and the family and the story and his role within that story. He's always been, 'Hey, if I'm available, can I come back?'"

Could the showrunners make it work?"

"If it works organically with the writers and they can find a way to where it makes sense, then they would love to do that," Ackles said. "He would love to do that. No promise of it in the near future."

Misha Collins confirmed that Castiel is still very much under the attack-dog spell at the start of Season 11.

"We pick up with Cas still being under Rowena's spell," Collins said. "The time cut is kind of negligible. We're really picking up where we left off. Cas is dealing with the attack-dog spell. The Darkness is falling."

The 'Supernatural' season finale saw Sam and Dean finally getting rid of the Mark of Cain, but at an extremely high cost. The removal of the Mark also unleashed the Darkness into the world, and they must once again unite to save mankind.

'Supernatural' returns to the CW on October 7, 2015.
