Microsoft has launched a new translator app for iOS and Android running devices that supports 50 different languages. The latest release of the tech company is accessible not just through smartphones and tablets, but also on the Apple Watch and Android Wear.
Microsoft Translator can be utilized by users to translate any word or phrase by just typing or speaking it. The new app will provide the translation on the screen and speaks it out loud afterwards. Copying and pasting text from one app to another is also possible.
While the Google Translate app supports only 27 languages, the app from Microsoft can offer 50 languages which include English, French, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Latin, Bulgarian, Korean, Greek, Portuguese and many others.
Microsoft seems determined to be the dominant company in the industry by rolling out a bunch of apps and services. The multinational company recently launched the Windows 10 operating system which gained 14 million installs during the first 24 hours of its initial release.
The company shows eagerness to overcome Google by offering similar app to Google Translate which recently added 20 different languages.
Unlike Microsoft translate app, Google Translate conversation and camera translation feature. The conversational translation aids users who are talking to a person of different language by converting the words verbally to them. The camera translation on the other hand, allows users to translate phrases or any signage written in a foreign language to by simply pointing the camera of the phone on it.
Microsoft has already been offering language translation services through its Bing website and other mobile and desktop software including its Skype Translator program.
Microsoft Translator can correctly pronounce any phrases and synchronize all translations and settings made on the users watch and phone. The company has now made the translator available for download from the App Store and Google Play.
