Forbes magazine recently released its yearly list of highest-paid actors. In a surprising turn of events, four of the ten wealthiest male film actors aren't from Hollywood.
However, Robert Downey Jr. took the top spot yet again, making it his third year in a row. The "Iron Man" star actually earned about $80 million throughout the preceding 12 months.
In fact, "The Avengers" actor was able to rise above Hollywood A-Listers like Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and even Tom Cruise for the top spot.
Luckily for Robert Downey Jr., his profit-share deal from "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which made $1.39 billion, was one of the contributing factors to his $80 million profit.
In addition, The Guardian reports that Robert Downey Jr. was also able to garner a $40 million paycheck for the coming Marvel movie, "Captain America: Civil War."
Forbes magazine's Natalie Robehmed said, "Downey Jr. has been able to cut unique, favorable deals that ensure he is well compensated for his Tony Stark troubles. Movies featuring his Iron Man character still perform astronomically at the box office."
Other non-Hollywood stars who were able to garner spots on the top ten list include "Rush Hour" star Jackie Chan, and Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar.
Not only that, but they even beat American favorites "Entourage" producer Mark Wahlberg, "The Wolf of Wall Street" actor Leonardo DiCaprio, "Furious 7" actor Dwayne Johnson and star of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, Johnny Depp.
This is the first time that Forbes magazine had included actors in the international film genre, and outside of the Hollywood spotlight.
Robert Downey Jr. net worth is reportedly $180 million.
