'Captain America: Civil War' Update: Jeremy Renner Talks About Hawkeye's Role In MCU

There is no question that 'Captain America: Civil War' will have an all-star cast featuring characters from 'Avengers' and 'Ant-Man' as well as the upcoming films 'Black Panther' and the untitled 'Spider-Man' reboot.

One of the 'Avengers' characters joining the 'Civil War' cast is Clint Barton, who is played by Jeremy Renner. The actor recently talked to ScreenRant about Hawkeye's role in 'Captain America 3' and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"It's more active. A lot of fun stuff happening in that one," Renner confirmed. "I can't speak too much for it. They're still filming that sucker right now. But yeah, there's a lot of stuff happening in that one physically for me anyway. Then who knows in the future? I don't know what's going to happen."

Jeremy Renner was also questioned whether Marvel's Phase Three will still feature actors from the previous MCU films or newer characters.

"I think it's probably both," he said. "It's always great to know that you are going have a job next year or something. That's a fantastic blessing for any actor. It's nice to be able to continue things and characters that you've kind of grown with. But it's always great to have new faces come in."

Renner added that Marvel likes to keep the same actors to portray established characters.

"They're not big on replacing people and characters so much, which I think is smart, because there's so many different characters. I think there's going to be a lot of new faces coming up in that world. I'm happy just to be a part of that big universe."

Jeremy Renner is currently promoting the upcoming action flick 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation,' where he will reprise his role as William Brandt. The film will premiere on July 31.

'Captain America: Civil War' is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
