Guns N' Roses Guitarist Dj Ashba posted on his website a three page handwritten letter to fans announcing his departure from the band.
Monday, July 27, the 42 year old rocker wrote a long handwritten letter to fans, which he posted on his website. Announcing his exit from Guns N' Roses which his stint as a lead guitarist was for six years.
After he reminisced about the past in the first page of the letter, on the second page he then announced the sad news.
Ashba wrote, "It is with a very heavy heart and yet great pride that I announce that I've decided to close this chapter of my life and encapsulate the wonderful times that I've shared with GUNS N' ROSES into fond memories."
DJ Ashba has been the lead guitarist of Sixx:A.M from 2007 until present. In his letter he wrote that he will focus more on his family as well as to his band Sixx:A.M., where he believes he can "express" himself honestly.
He further added that he will be pursuing his passion together with his best buds, Nikki Sixx and singer James Michael in the Sixx:A.M. band.
"I have reached a point in my life where I feel it's time to dedicate myself to my band Sixx:A.M., my adoring wife and family, and to the many new adventures that the future holds for me."
Ashba also shared his gratitude to Axl Rose, the man who recruited him in 2009 to replace guitarist Robin Fink, "I want to take a moment to thank Axl from the bottom of my heart for not only the most incredible experience of my life, but for truly believing in me!"
At the end of Ashba's letter, he thank his fans for the "love and support" throughout his journey, hoping that they will still join him towards his new endeavor.
