[WATCH] Kanye West Throws Mic Into Crowd, Storms Off Stage After Sound Malfunction At Pan Am Games

When Kanye West does something, he certainly goes big. He's always pushing boundaries, and now Kanye West has given new meaning to 'drop the mic.'

Kanye was one of the highlights of the Pan Am Games’ closing ceremonies on July 26. He was on hand for the end of the 2015 Pan Am Games, and his performance left everyone speechless.

At what would be the end of Kanye’s set, he added a dramatic exclamation point to it by throwing his mic into the crowd.

Kanye wowed the 40,000 fans and athletes at Toronto’s Rogers Center with a medley that featured Stronger, Black Skinhead and Power. However, after multiple technical difficulties throughout the set, the power to his mic seemed to fail.

The malfunction caused perfectionist Kanye West to throw his mic into the air and leave the stage just 13 minutes into his set at the Rogers Centre. His sudden exit confused the stadium crowd, who couldn't hear anything due to the technical issues.

West was in the middle of an energetic performance when his microphone sound cut out at exactly 10pm, just as he launched into The Good Life, reports Billboard.

The crowd loved it, reportedly chanting “Kanye!” as he left the stage. The official word was that Kanye suffered a “technical error.” The television audience reportedly didn’t suffer the error, as the music continued to play on the broadcast. It’s possible that Kanye didn’t even know that his mic had died and he was listening to the playback.

Despite the troublesome microphone, West thrilled the audience with a short-but-electric performance, jumping and leaping into the air and giving his all to the 40,000-strong crowd.

Kanye West obviously felt it was better to cut short the show than to continue on with technical difficulties.

Yeezy was a controversial choice for the Pan Am Games closing ceremony, with 20,000 people signing an online petition calling for a Toronto musician - like rapper Drake - to get the high-profile gig.
