‘Full House’ 2015: DJ’s High School Sweetheart Steve Joins Netflix Sequel, With John Stamos In Rehab And Olsen Twins Gone

Although there's little doubt that nostalgic millennials and older are eagerly awaiting the "Full House" 2015 sequel on Netflix, it's also been clear that it's been something of a rocky ride in the past few months, particularly after the person behind the project, Uncle Jesse himself, John Stamos, entered rehab for substance abuse.

However, now there's good news for the "Full House" 2015 Netflix sequel, after it was announced that Scott Weigner, who played DJ's high school sweetheart Steve Hale in the original 90s show, will be returning for the 2016 gender-switched version!

Over the past few months, since the official announcement of the "Full House" 2015 sequel series, there have been various reports of some of the stars from the original show coming back for the sequel, and it seems like most of the cast is reassembled, except for Mary-Kate and Ashley, best known as the Olsen twins.

According to Variety, the latest person to join the cast is Weinger, who played the boyfriend of DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure, who will be getting top billing in Netflix's "Fuller House") in the original show, and he announced the big news through his Twitter account, posting a photo of the screenplay during the first cast reading in the reunion.

As The Huffington Post reports, Weinger was seemingly all over the place in the 1990s, voicing Aladdin in the Disney animated classic of the same name as well as writing for some of the biggest shows including "90210" and even the more recent Amanda Bynes one "What I Like About You."

In the "Full House" 2015 sequel series, Weinger will be joining others like Stamos, Bure, Bob Saget, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast has already gotten together to start filming the "Full House" 2015 sequel series, with many of them posting photos on their social media sites reading their scripts - a very exciting time for the Tanners, no doubt!
