Amy Schumer's Star Wars photoshoot for GQ magazine has definitely raised a lot of eyebrows. The pictures, which featured the 'Trainwreck' star partying with C-3PO, Chewbacca and R2-D2, had mixed reactions due to its obvious sexual connotations.
Fans of both Schumer and the 'Star Wars' franchise initially just laughed at the hilarious pictures, which included a few high-kicking Stormtroopers and an unfortunate light saber.
However, Disney and Lucasfilm didn't find them funny at all. When a Star Wars fan tweeted about the photos, there was an immediate response from the franchise's Twitter account.
"Lucasfilm & Disney did not approve, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner," @starwars tweeted.
However, Schumer may have found an ally in a Jedi Master. Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in Episodes IV to VI, admitted he liked the photos.
"Got excited when I saw @amyschumer @GQMagazine pics & thought she was just cast in Ep 8! We should be so lucky," Hamill tweeted.
Hamill wasn't the only one who adored the pictures. Several Twitter users also thought the photoshoot was brilliant.
Amy Schumer has just released her new movie 'Trainwreck,' which was directed by Judd Apatow. Schumer wrote the script for the film, which also stars Bill Hader, John Cena, Lebron James, Tilda Swinton and Brie Larson. The movie premiered on July 17 and has earned over $30 million worldwide.
In addition to being an actor, Mark Hamill is also a prolific voice talent. He is best known for providing the voice of The Joker in several Batman animated films, series and video games.
Hamill will join Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in the upcoming sequel 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.' He will return as Luke Skywalker in the film, which is scheduled for release on December 18, 2015.
