Apple remains to be the highest earning smartphone company in three straight years. In terms of sales, the company has overpowered seven leading smartphone makers in the world by taking 92% of the total revenues produced by the eight leading smartphone creators.

In 2012, the tech giant earned 73% of all profits in the smartphone industry. The company's revenues kept climbing with its 65% profit last year. Though the company shipped only 18.3% of smartphone sglobally in the first quarter, Apple managed to take majority of the profits in the industry.

A research conducted by the firm IDC shows the dispersion of sales and profits in the market. Android was found to be dominant in the market with a share of 78%. Samsung has contributed so much with its 82.4 million smartphone shipments during the first three months of 2015, which is larger compared to Apple's 61.2 million units.

The large profit earned by Apple can be accounted to its worldwide average selling price which is $624, higher compared to the $185 price tag of most Android smartphones. The high demand of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus also contributed to the increase in sales.

In simple words, the expensive worth of iPhones is a major contributing factor of the company's high profit that lead to Apple leading nearly 1,000 phone companies all over the world.

IDC credited the huge revenue of Apple to its expansion projects in Macau, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. The firm stated that the growth in iPhone sales yearly comes majority comes from emerging markets.

An analyst named Ian Fogg stated that, "69 percent of Apple's total revenues are from the iPhone. While Apple's iPhone is a vibrant money maker in the mobile market, the iPhone is now the centerpiece of Apple's business too."
