Ruby Rose Refuses To Alter Her Gender After Saving Money For It Since She's Five

Orange Is The New Black actress Ruby Rose has been very open about her gender and she recently told Access Hollywood that she did save money since she was 5 years old just so she would transition.

Ruby Rose was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia and as a child, she experienced a lot of bullying because of the way she looked and acted. It was when she watched this Oprah segment about going under the knife to change her gender that she wanted to have that done as well. Ruby Rose said, "I had this jar that I would collect dollars, in fact it was probably cents, so I had like 19 cents to go towards this surgery that I didn't really know a lot about."

The Daily Mail also reported what the OITNB has confessed and that it was at the young age of 12 that she came out. She considers herself as gender fluid, which means she is not neither masculine nor feminine. After quite some time she eventually decided not to go with the transition that it would have to involve surgery. She said that she just made peace with herself of just being confident in her own skin.

Ruby Rose has experienced a lot of crazy things since becoming the breakout star of OITNB. She said that she went from completely struggling to get an agent and representation when she first came to Hollywood about two years ago, to now having fans recognize her on the freeway while she is driving. She even essentially caused a car accident just because fans are now going crazy about her.

Ruby Rose is currently engaged to British designer Phoebe Dahl. Her current net worth is $2 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.
