Wesley Snipes in Talks w/ Marvel about Blade the Vampire Hunter Revival

Before the likes of Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America turned Marvel into the dominant force in blockbuster movies, there was Blade the Vampire Hunter. Played by action star Wesley Snipes, Blade was one of Marvel's first forays into movie making. Snipes played the titular character in three films, 1998's Blade and its two sequels Blade II and Blade: Trinity.

Now, more than 10 years since he last graced screens, it seems like both Snipes and Blade may be returning to the Marvel cinematic universe. At this year's San Diego Comic Con, the 52 year old Snipes told Deadline that he is in talks to reprise his role.

Snipes was at the event to promote his upcoming TV series 'The Player' which is set to air on NBC later this year. But, given the setting, it was inevitable that the conversation would shift to his role as Blade.

Here's what Snipes had to say when Deadline asked him about the possibility of a Fourth Blade film hitting cinemas in the future:

"The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don't know where it's on their schedule at this point, that hasn't been decided. I guess it's still up in the air."

Deadline also asked Snipes about the likelihood of him joining the fast growing Marvel cinematic universe in a different role. His response:

"That's a possibility too. I've always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and I'd be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don't to do a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we'll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful.
