Starbucks just made its first major move in the fast-food arena: A BBQ beef brisket on sourdough bread is now available at locations nationwide.
The popular chain added more new menu items, a new Teavana shaken iced mango black tea lemonade as well as grab-and-go snack and lunch items, which include the intriguing BBQ beef brisket sandwich on sourdough bread.
Previously, if you wanted something more substantial to eat at Starbucks you had to choose between a panini and an egg salad sandwich. But the mega coffee chain has just added the new brisket sandwich on its menu.
The company describes the sandwich as "warm and flavorful BBQ beef brisket topped with Gordon Biersch beer braised onions and melted Sonoma Jack Cheese, served on toasted Sourdough," and it is available for Starbucks fans nationwide along with a Santa Fe chicken sandwich.
It's one of several "unique lunch and dinner options" Starbucks is now promising.
The newest addition to Starbucks' menu undoubtedly ups its sandwich game. Many of their other sandwiches come pre-assembled and are simply reheated upon purchase, so the brisket is definitely different from what the customers are used to.
In addition, the company also released some seasonal snacks like pitted olives, coconut chips and bistro boxes for those that need something quick. However, these are not available at all stores.
They also started serving the Teavana shaken iced mango black tea lemonade, it is described as "a blend of premium black tea, juicy mango, sweet passion fruit, and a splash of lemonade," and is available at participating stores where Teavana tea is served.
In yet another attempt to appeal to young consumers, Starbucks has launched a new summer menu, with "portable food perfect for spontaneous picnics and after work snacks," stated in the press release.
“Bistro boxes are the epitome of portable, flexible, grab and go food," said Melodie Beal, Starbucks product development manager, Food Innovation. “Building on the success of the Protein Bistro Box and Thai-Style Peanut Chicken Wrap, we’re adding the Omega-3 Bistro Box this summer.”
