Emma Robert's Biggest Insecurity: 'I definitely have a complex about being pale'

Emma Roberts, who recently went through a Photoshop-free lingerie photo shoot for Aerie's Fall 2015 Campaign, has been really worried about her pale skin complexion which appears to be her biggest insecurity as a person and as an actress.

"I definitely have a complex about being pale because I've been made fun of my whole life, so I was nervous about that," Roberts said in her interview with People.

The 24-year old actress is one of the stars to participate in the upcoming #AerieREAL campaign, where the photos of the models are not being Photoshopped. This brand campaign is projecting for "real women".

Roberts shared her experience as a little girl, being teased about how pale her skin looked and how pale her legs were. "When I was a kid, everyone would be like, 'Your legs are so pale! I can't believe you're wearing a dress!' And I would get so embarrassed," Roberts said.

She also added that out of her insecurity, she would use tanning sprays. However, as she recalls her childhood photos, she realizes she needs to remind her young self to just own it. She told herself, "Stop spray-tanning so much. Just own it."

The "Scream Queens" star has also openly talked about why she loved being part of the 2015 Aerie Campaign. She said that she "loved the messaging behind it" and sees the whole idea of the campaign really "inspiring" for women.

"Yes, I'm an actress, but I'm also a real girl. Seeing [photoshopped] ads, you get kind of bumped. You're like, 'Ugh, do these people really look like that?"

How Roberts deal with her biggest insecurity about having a pale complexion is something that would inspire other women to start shedding their own insecurities and face their true selves.

"I hope that with this campaign they start 'real', as beautiful and just who you are, inside and out," she said.

Emma Roberts is currently filming on her upcoming movie "Nerve" which will be released in 2016.
