Ryder Cup 2012 Scores from Day 1: Bradley and Mickelson Win Big for Team USA

Team USA currently leads the Ryder Cup 2012, scoring three points to Team Europe's three points after Day 1. Pair Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson won both of their matches today, garnering two points for Team USA.

After the morning session, both teams were tied at 2-all. However, it was the afternoon session that the Americans took the lead to 5-3.

"This is literally what I've dreamt about since I was a little kid," Bradley said. "I got to do it next to my idol all day." It is Bradley's first Ryder Cup tournament while it is Mickelson's ninth. "I felt young, and it felt great," Mickelson said.

Bubba Watson (2012 Masters champion) and Webb Simpson (2012 US Open winner) took to the course in the afternoon and immediately took a lead against Paul Lawrie and Peter Hanson 5 and 4. Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar of Team USA also won against Justin Rose and Martin Kaymer 3 and 2.

Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker however were a disappointment, losing 2 and 1 to Ian Poulter and Justin Rose in the morning, and Lee Westwood and Nicolas Colsaerts 1 up in the afternoon.

"Nicolas probably had one of the greatest putting rounds I've ever seen," Woods said.

Team USA caption Davis Love III told Woods and Stricker that they would be sitting out of the foursomes matches Saturday morning.
