[WARNING, THE ARTICLE IS DARK AND FULL OF SPOILERS]
Carice van Houten may be one of the most hated actresses in 'Game of Thrones,' second only to Lena Headey, who plays the deceptive Cersei Lannister.
The Dutch actress portrays the Red Priestress Melisandre, who is responsible for the death of two Baratheons, Renly and Shireen. Fans also believe that her abandonment led to Stannis Baratheon's demise in the recent 'Game of Thrones' season finale.
Van Houten has just offered hints that Melisandre may be the fans' only hope in seeing the freshly assassinated Jon Snow come back to life. In an interview with The New Daily, the actress talked about her character's growing interest in the allegedly deceased Lord Commander.
"You've seen her clock Jon Snow, which is a great ending because you think, 'Uh oh, what's going to happen there?'" Van Houten said.
"You feel that she is concentrating more and more towards Jon Snow. There are slight hints that something's going to happen."
In the series, Melisandre has always taken interest in characters who are blood relatives of the king. She famously seduced Stannis to birth a shadow baby that assassinated Renly Baratheon, and gamely got naked with Gendry, who is believed to be Robert Baratheon's son.
In the episode 'Sons of the Harpy,' Melisandre attempted to seduce Jon Snow but the young Night's Watch brother didn't give in as easily as her other victims. The seduction has been cited as a hint to Jon Snow's true lineage, which has been a mystery since the first season of 'Game of Thrones.'
Van Houten also teased that the sixth season will feature something "spectacular."
"I was doing ADR the other day and then the producer was there and he was saying something that I've heard before, which is quite spectacular, for next year, which I really can't say anything about."
Could this be the possible resurrection of Jon Snow? The actress didn't share any more secrets, suggesting that fans will have to wait until Season Six premieres in 2016.
