Shia LaBeouf was hospitalized after suffering from a head injury while on the set of his upcoming movie "American Honey" on Tuesday, June 23, according to reports.

The accident occured in North Dakota, where the 29-year old actor was filming a few scenes, including a stunt that entailed LaBeouf to put his head through a glass window. 

The stunt didn't go as planned and he was immediately rushed to the hospital after obtaining bloody head injuries. His rep said that the actor acquired 20 stitches and 13 staples to his head. 

LaBeaouf's publicist released an update on the actor's current condition yesterday.

"Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film American Honey," said by publicist Melissa Kates. "As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head. He is due back on set tomorrow."

The actor, who appeared in the "Transformers" franchise and in the World War Two drama "Fury" with Brad Pitt, went back to work two days after the mishap.

LeBeouf, who usually appears in films with hard stunts, also had to undergo surgery on his hand back in 2008 after he was injured from a car accident.

"American Honey" is an upcoming British-American drama movie which stars Shia LaBeouf and McCaul Lombardi as its main casts.

Directed and written by Andrea Arnold, the new film tells the story of a teenager who joins a travelling magazine sales crew and gets caught up in a rapid hard partying, breaking the rules and bumping into a young love as she crosses the Midwest with a band of misfits.

Aside from being notable in big stunt movies, Shia LaBeouf also appeared in the Disney Channel American-comedy series "Even Stevens" as Louis Stevens, where he became popular among teenagers and young audiences.
