Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt Team Up For New Sci-Fi Romance

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is teaming up with the newest Hollywood box office king, Chris Pratt in an upcoming blockbuster movie.

The 'Hunger Games' actress will be starring with the 'Jurassic World' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actor in a new sci-fi romantic movie that will start rolling cameras on September.

The team-up of two of Hollywood's biggest stars in this much-awaited outer space romance will be directed by Oscar winner and director of The Imitation Game,' Morten Tyldum.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film entitled "Passengers" will be produced by either Sony Pictures or Studio 8, with a reported expected budget of $150 million.

A part of that budget goes to Chris Pratt's actor's fee, which has reportedly jumped from $10 million to $12 million, following the latest record-breaking box office hit, Jurassic World. The 1994 Jurassic Park sequel earned $524.1 million after its global opening weekend.

Box-office queen Jennifer Lawrence, herself, will be getting $20 million against 30% of the movie profit after the ticket sales breaks even. J-Law's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 earned more than $500 million at the box office last year.

Considered as the new "Gravity" in a love story, Sony Pictures chairman, Tom Rothman is still searching for funds to support the filming of this hugely-budgeted sci-fi romance.

Rothman reportedly offered Tyldum to cut the budget down to $90 million, which the director then resisted.

The movie script has been circling around Hollywood for years now, with other movie companies like Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures offering a smaller budget. The roles were even previously offered to other A-list actors such as Reese Witherspoon, Keanu Reeves and Rachel McAdams.

The chairman of Sony Pictures is currently considering transferring this film project to Studio 8, which is also partly owned by Sony, to search out financial help from other distributing partners.
