Colombia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation have released the first Hotel Transylvania 2 trailer for director Genndy Tartakovsky’s animated sequel.
The follow-up shows a more relaxed Dracula played by Adam Sandler. After having a 100% human son-in-law, he got rid of the 'monsters only' policy for his hotel and has opened its doors to both human beings and monsters.
In the sequel, Drac is now a proud new grandpa of the redheaded boy of Mavis and Johnny. Family issues started to get more complicated in the hotel when his half-human, half-vampire grandson Dennis starts showing signs of being more human than vampire.
He is aghast that his beloved grandson does not seem to be developing his monster side. So Dracula and his ghoulish pals put the child through a rigorous “monster-in-training” boot camp, only to find Dracula’s own father Vlad making a surprise visit.
Vlad, who is not too pleased about what is happening in the hotel is likely to provide an even more generational conflict.
When Dracula's daughter Mavis went to meet her human in-laws, she was in for a culture shock, but enjoyed her stay nevertheless. She even wanted to stay for good, believing it would be better for Dennis.
When they threaten to move from Transylvania to Johnny's California, the fang gang goes to work on stopping such nonsense
The original Hotel Transylvania was released in 2012. It was directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator of hit animated series like Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack, and grossed more than $350 million at the worldwide box office.
Hotel Transylvania 2 opens in theaters on September 25th.
The voice cast also includes Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, Keegan-Michael Key, and Mel Brooks who voices the very old and seriously old-school father of Sandler's vampire.
